Billy Garritty wins the 2024 Coral Sprint Trophy

Jockey Billy Garritty is celebrating one of the biggest wins of his career after landing the £100,000 Coral Sprint Trophy on the final day of the 2024 season at York.

He drove the six year old Strike Red through the mud to beat his 20 rivals by three quarters of a length and win the big prize for trainer Richard Fahey.

Garrity, the youngest member of a famous Northern Racing Dynasty. spole with Mike Vince afterwards.

Billy Lee wins the Sky Bet Ebor aboard Magical Zoe

Irish mare Magical Zoe has run out a decisive winner of Europe's richest handicap, the Sky Bet Ebor at York.

It's one of the biggest wins in the career of Limerick jockey Billy Lee who drove the mare to a two and three quarter length win over her 19 rivals for trainer Henry de Bromhead.

Lee spoke with Mike Vince afterwards.

Tom Marquand on Big Ev's in the Coolmore Wottoon Bassett Nunthorpe

14 runners go to post for the weeks big sprint, the Coolmore Nunthorpe Stakes, on day 3 of the Skybet Ebor Festival at York.

It's a showdown between the best sprinters in Britain and the Australian speedball Afsoora, the brilliant winner at Royal Ascot.

Leading British hope is Big Ev's,an impressive Goodwood winner last time added to his glowing CV.

He'll be ridden by Tom Marquand, who has been speaking with Mike Vince.

The leading jockeys in action are to take part in a unique initiative on day 3 of the Skybet Ebor Festival at York, designed to bring them closer to racegoers.

In addition to autograph sessions the riders wlll be involved in interviews with youngsters, and a pop up gym.

Dale Gibson, The Executive Director of the Professional Jockeys Association, who have organised much of the day, where the jockeys will also ride with their names on their breeches, has been telling Mike Vince what is involved.
