Originally set to appear in 2020, popular children’s character, Peter Rabbit has been confirmed as the headliner for the YorkMix Family Sunday at York Racecourse, on Sunday 5 September 2021. The hero of both the classic Beatrix Potter stories and now a pair of Hollywood blockbusters, the character will appear on the Edwardian Weighing Room Lawn, at intervals, during the afternoon.
There’s fun for all, including a seven-race thoroughbred card worth well into six figures.
This year the event is pleased to have a new headline partner in YorkMix, bringing you the latest news and entertainment for York and North Yorkshire at YorkMix.com, and on air with YorkMix radio. A station playing your favourite songs from the 80s to today, with well know local presenters, such as Ben & Laura, Victoria Charles, Tim Lichfield and David Green.
Good times can be enjoyed in the fresh air, over the wide lawns and terraces.
As national Covid-19 restrictions have been eased, the occasion will also see the return of the “Big Top Entertainment Marquee” home to giant inflatables, a children’s zoo, zorb football, face painting, and lots more.
The only Sunday of the season is also set to see the young riders taking part in the Pony Racing Series.
For this special family meeting, the County Stand dress code is relaxed: gentlemen are not required to wear jacket, collar and tie.
So, everyone can book with confidence, all racedays come with a money back refund guarantee for all advance bookings made direct with York Racecourse, in the event of Covid-19 related changes to plans.
James Brennan, Head of Marketing and Sponsorship said,
“Everyone at the course is really looking forward to YorkMix Family Sunday, it’s a special day with a unique atmosphere. Seeing families return, now down the generations, is a real treat for us.”
