York Racecourse is delighted to have been recognised for Excellence by VisitEngland following their visit to the track last Summer.
As the national results from 2016 were revealed, York retained its position as ranked in the top eleven racecourses (top ten plus a tie). This is based on rating the racecourse as a quality day out, taking into account efficiency and friendliness of customer service, cleanliness of facilities as well as speed, quality and efficiency of the racecourse operation.
The Judges also reward specific areas of the assessment for achieving exceptionally high marks, York were awarded two Accolades for Customer Service and the Food Court near the Knavesmire Stand.
Commenting on the award, Chief Executive and Clerk of the Course, William Derby said; “it is tremendous boost that the hard working team have been recognised by such a trusted body as VisitEngland. Customer Service sits at the heart of any visitor experience so it continues to be central to our plans for the coming season. The Knavesmire Food Court is an unsung hero no more and it is particularly pleasing to see the team behind it receive their accolade.”
The areas where the judges indicated that there was still scope for further improvement have been worked on ahead of the return of racing to the Knavesmire on Wednesday 17 May.
