The Premier Racing Lounge, combines a great location (adjacent to the Parade Ring) with the benefits of modern technology, delivered with a touch of luxury. Accommodating around 130 customers who select a specific seat at the time of booking. In addition to a seat, racegoers will have access to a bar, Tote betting facilities and private toilets. All tables seat four and not designed to be reconfigured on the day. Groups are limited to a maximum of eight people. The Premier Racing Lounge enjoys views towards both the Track and the Parade Ring and also benefits from a private external area on the trackside. Food is pre-ordered Proper Platters (i.e. cured meats, cheeses, olives and artisan bread) although customers are of course able to leave the facility to buy other food around the racecourse, the Gimcrack Restaurant or John Carr Griddle are close by; although they are not permitted to bring it back in to the Premier Racing Lounge. The Premier Racing Lounge is not a restaurant or hospitality area, with no kitchen available, only basic bar snacks and pre-ordered Proper Platters are available.
Enjoying the benefits of County Stand admission, a Melrose Club Lounge Badge also includes; - Exclusive use of the Melrose Club Lounge itself with a balcony offering prime viewing across the home straight as well as a splendid conservatory that overlooks the Champagne Lawns. - Glass of prosecco (or soft drink), served on arrival - Yorkshire Tapas Platter (think canapés and light bites), served to your table - Light Afternoon Tea, served to your table - Coffee/tea available on request - Credit card account on the bar throughout the day Located on the second floor of the Melrose Stand with its own balcony looking over the Home Straight. There are around 200 places each day and the smart yet relaxed ambiance seems to have struck a chord with many regulars at York. The atmosphere makes it ideal for entertaining business guests at the races when a smaller party or more informal style is appropriate. Learning from its success with the Premier Racing Lounge, we have introduced the ability to reserve a specific seat in the Melrose Club Lounge. At the time of booking you will be able to pre book your actual seats meaning you can choose your location within the wider space. In common with many venues, what are considered "the best seats", so in this case those with the trackside windows will have a small premium to them, which may vary by day. It is worth noting that the majority of seats will only change in price next year by a few pounds, to broadly reflect inflationary pressures. A consequence of the ability to book specific seats, is that again like most cinemas or theatres, it will not be possible to "orphan" seats; for example leaving a single seat on a sofa unreserved. So please consider your party size before booking, we hope you will spread the word to other friends. Please note that in order to best retain the club atmosphere, party size is limited to 10 guests, please call the team on 01904 620911 to discuss options for larger groups.
