Sky Bet York Stakes

14-1 shot Bangkok, trained by Andrew Balding and ridden by David Probert has run out a s surprise winner of the Group 2 Sky Bet York Stakes, the feature race on the Knavesmire of Music Showcase Saturday.

The five year old improved Balding's remarkable recent record at the track by scrambling home by a Head from Juan Elcano, with the favourite Mohaafeth a neck back in third having come from last to lead in the shadow of the post.

Sky Bet Jump Jockeys Nunthorpe

Tom Scudamore is celebrating his second win in the Sky Bet Jump Jockeys Nunthorpe, over the famous 5 furlong sprint track at York.

In a race for riders more used to 3 mile steeplechases than starting stalls, he won by a neck on the 11-2 shout Soul Seeker, beating Sean Quinlan on Son and Sannie.

It's a big win for the trainer and jockey combination for the second day running- this time Scudamore punched the air in delight in a race all his weighing room colleagues relish.
