Stradivarius on course for huge bonus

Added: Tuesday 31st July 2018

Victory in the Weatherbys Hamilton Lonsdale Cup at York next month is all that stands between star stayer Stradivarius and a million pound bonus after he landed the Qatar Goodwood Cup this afternoon.

John Gosden's stayer followed up his early season and Gold Cup victory at Ascot to claim the third leg of the four race challenge.

All roads now lead to York, and a possible rematch with Torcedor who went down by half a length on the Sussex Downs.

Charles Hamilton, whose firm sponsor the York race, was watching at Goodwood and is delighted the bonus will now be decided on the Knavesmire.
