The 2018 Ride of their Lives to raise thousands of pounds for Charity on Mc Millan Charity Day at York has ended in a dramatic dead-heat.

The judge could not seperate the long time leader Sarah Fanning on board X Rated and Chris Brownless on board Apterix.

Reality TV star Chris Hughes finished fifth.

Richard Fahey on Big Saturday Sprint

The £100,000 Paver Foundation Catherine Memorial Sprint is the highlight of the Macmillan Charity Day at York, which has raised more than seven million pounds for good causes in its near 50 year existence.

A maximum field of 20 will contest the six furlong dash, which is one of the richest three year old sprint handicaps in Europe.

North Yorkshire trainer Ruth Carr sends her stable star Sovereign Debt into action in the £50,000 mrgreen.com Live Casino Ganton Stakes, the feature race on day One of the Charity weekend meeting at York.

The field for the mile contest includes Here Comes When, who won the Grade One Sussex Stakes last summer.

As usual Jimmy Sullivan will be on board the nine year old Sovereign Debt, last seen finishing fourth in a Group 3 race on Derby Day at Epsom.

Jet Streaming set for the inaugural G3 Al Basti Equiworld Dubai Brontë Cup

Trainer Ian Williams is hoping his recent stable recruit Jet Streaming will step up on her seasonal debut in the first running of the £90,000 Al Basti Equiworld Dubai Brontë Cup at York on Saturday 26 May.

6 runners go to post for the inaugural Group 3 over the Ebor distance brought in this year to give fillies' extra opportunities at staying distances.

Jet Streaming moved to Ian Williams yard from Adrian Keatley in Ireland in the closed season and Williams is hoping for a good day on the Knavesmire.
