Added: Friday 15th December 2017

York's Chief Executive William Derby, is to travel the world early in the New Year, in a bid to attract horses from across the globe to these shores next summer to take on the pride of Britain.

Hopes are rising that the Australian wonder mare Winx will come to the UK next summer. Whilst the emergence of Champion pair Cracksman and Enable, who both stay in training next year, present a once in a lifetime opportunity.

William Derby, who is also Clerk of the Course at York admits those two horses, and the racecourses well established one million pound showpiece, the Juddmonte International, present a massive opportunity.

He's been speaking with Mike Vince.
