MICHELIN STAR CHEF TOM BARNES WELCOMED TO YORK RACES

The Michelin Guide for 2025 has been announced and a new name on this culinary Roll of Honour will be Tom Barnes.

For two days only, Wednesday 20th and Thursday 21st August, guests at the Sky Bet Ebor Festival will enjoy a specially curated four-course menu showcasing seasonal ingredients, prepared in Tom’s signature style that highlights the best of modern British cuisine. With the added benefits of the premier County Stand Enclosure, this is a one-of-a-kind way to enjoy the races.

Whilst it for his home restaurant in Manchester, SKOF, that Tom has received the latest accolade, he will be using one of our luxury suites to create, a new dining and viewing experience,  offering unrivalled luxury and elegance with all the wider benefits of the premier County Stand Enclosure.

From the North of England - Tom Barnes has quickly established himself as one of the UK’s leading culinary talents. This year, Tom Skof, already a critically acclaimed destination known for  inventive yet approachable menus, Wherever Tom cooks, the dishes reflect a passion for quality ingredients, simplicity, and precision.

Tom began his career in the Lake District, mastering his craft in multi-Michelin-starred kitchens. At just 25 years old, he was awarded the prestigious Roux Scholarship, which provided him with invaluable international experience. Tom has previously worked as Executive Chef for Simon Rogan’s Umbel Restaurant Group, where he oversaw renowned establishments such as the three-Michelin-starred L'Enclume, one-Michelin-starred Rogan & Co, and Henrock.

In 2020, Tom captured the nation’s attention as a competitor on BBC2’s Great British Menu, winning the honour of having his main course featured at the banquet.

On Wednesday 20th August the action on the racecourse will be headlined by the World’s Best Horse Race, the Group One Juddmonte International. Thursday is Ladies Day, with the best fillies and mares in the land racing in the Group One Pertemps Network Yorkshire Oaks.
