From the North of England - Tom Barnes has quickly established himself as one of the UK’s leading culinary talents. This year, Tom launched his debut solo restaurant, Skof, in Manchester—a critically acclaimed opening that has already earned a reputation as one of the most exciting new dining destinations in the country. Known for his inventive yet approachable menus, Tom’s cooking reflects a passion for quality ingredients, simplicity, and precision.

Tom began his career in the Lake District, mastering his craft in multi-Michelin-starred kitchens. At just 25 years old, he was awarded the prestigious Roux Scholarship, which provided him with invaluable international experience. Before opening Skof, Tom worked as Executive Chef for Simon Rogan’s Umbel Restaurant Group, where he oversaw renowned establishments such as the three-Michelin-starred L'Enclume, one-Michelin-starred Rogan & Co, and Henrock.

In 2020, Tom captured the nation’s attention as a competitor on BBC2’s Great British Menu, winning the honour of having his main course featured at the banquet.

Now, as the chef-owner of Skof, Tom continues to push boundaries, blending refined techniques with heartfelt creativity to deliver memorable dining experiences.
